Double Up Polaroids for a Simple and Sweet Memory Card Game

Here’s a terrific “Doh! Why didn’t I think of that?” idea shared by Flickr user Ralph Odenwälder in his photostream: create a set of matching Polaroid photographs for an awesome do-it-yourself memory card game that you can either give someone as a present or play yourself!

Of course, you could do the same thing by making duplicate prints with your digital or film photographs, but somehow it just doesn’t feel the same…

Thanko Button Camera Perfect for Lifeloggers or Wannabe Spies

Here’s a super random gift idea for photographers that have everything: a camera that’s hidden behind what appears to be a normal shirt button. The Thanko Button Camera is attached to button-up shirts using special buttons that have a hole for the lens. If you don’t have a shirt with black buttons, you’ll be happy to know that the buttons come in three different colors: black, white, and pearl.

Cotton Candy Scented Camera Soap

LoveLeeSoaps on Etsy has some neat soap for photography enthusiasts. You can get 5 mini bars or one large one.

Both camera-shaped soaps are made with moisturizing shea butter with a cotton candy scent added. The mini-pack costs $4, while the larger one sells for $4.50.

If you have links to other camera-shaped soaps, please share with us in the comments!

Amazing Canon 5D Mark II USB Drive

This might be old news for some of you, but I just came across it so I’m guessing many of you haven’t seen it before either. This is a 4GB USB drive that looks exactly like a miniature Canon 5D Mark II, with an EF 24-105mm lens as the drive, and the camera body as the case.

You can find them on eBay by searching for “canon 5d usb“. These little things will set you back about $94 apiece, including shipping.

Don’t need that much power in a USB drive? There’s also a 2GB flash drive that looks like a Canon 450D (AKA Rebel XSI). It actually costs more ($110) and seems to be a bit more rare. The USB drive is also in the body rather than the lens, and it comes with a kit lens rather than a nice L lens:

Seeing as the lens ship from Hong Kong, Canon probably doesn’t have anything to do with these lenses, just like the Canon 24-105 coffee mugs that appeared when the Canon L lens mug became a crazy Internet hit.

Anyhow, if you want to say you have a full frame USB drive and don’t mind spending semi-big bucks for one, this is the way to go.

Uber-Compact Chobi Mini Digital Camera

The Chobi Mini Digital Camera is an uber-compact digital camera that captures both still images and video. It captures AVI video at 1280 x 960 resolution, and JPEG photographs at 2048 x 1536, or 3 megapixels.

Here are a couple more photographs to give you a better idea of just how small this thing is:

Obviously, this thing doesn’t have any real glass, so great imaging quality isn’t a feature. However, it could make a novel (and expensive) gift, a carry-around toy camera, or a fun conversation piece.

Sadly, the price will likely be a deterrent — it costs ¥13,850, or about $149.

A Digital Camera for Your Keychain

Japanese company Green House recently released the Mini Digi, an “ultra-compact” digital camera that fits on your keychain. This eye-catching gadget is only 2.5 inches wide, and captures up to 160 photographs at .3 megapixels. If you get tired of carrying it around with your keys, you can also attach it to your computer and use it as a webcam. Oh, and did we mention it shoots AVI format videos as well? The Mini Digi is available through the online store for $20.
