After moving into their new dorm room, Caleb Ungewitter and his roommate Kyle decided that their walls looked too empty, so they decided to decorate it with a photo. Not just any photo, mind you, but a gigantic do-it-yourself print of a beautiful city skyline. Using a free program called The Rasterbator, they converted the photograph into 152 separate frames, which they printed out themselves and attached to the wall in a grid.

Did you know that you can turn any wall magnetic by painting it with magnetic primer? Communications company M Booth did this with one of its walls, then sent out employees onto the streets of NYC with Fujifilm Instax cameras. The result is this impressive wall displaying 800 instant photos!

Like many of the things we feature here on this blog, we think this looks a little too nice to use. You should just keep it framed and hang it up on your wall!

Remember the 100 pixelated camera illustrations by Billy Brown we featured a little while back? Well, you can now decorate your wall with them by ordering them as vinyl decals. For $36 you can choose either 30 small decals or 10 large ones over on Scribble on Everything.

Mel Stringer (aka girliepains on Etsy) keeps dreaming up cooler and cooler camera papercraft decorations. Her latest creation is a Polaroid model that include fake Polaroids to stick in the slot.

Have an ugly thermostat in your home that you wish you could hide when not in use? Hanging photographs on your wall could help you make it much less noticeable. Apartment Therapy suggests hiding it in plain sight by using framed photos that are similar in appearance:

Weather in the Northeast being what it is, our in-wall thermostats, radiators and air conditioners are usually only used for a fraction of the year and the rest of the time they serve as unsightly additions to our décor. [...]

Hide it in plain sight: We love how the thermostat blends perfectly into Chancie’s family photo wall. As part of the composition of frames it doesn’t stand out — past house sitters have even had trouble finding it.

If you’ve always wanted to hang up some photos, perhaps this could give you a push into making it finally happen.
