New ezShare Wi-Fi SD Cards Offer On/Off Switch to Minimize Power Drain

You’ve got plenty of options when selecting a wireless memory card, but one thing is fairly universal across the board: they drain way more battery than their non-wireless brethren. Some cameras have menu options that will allow you to control your Wi-Fi cards, but if yours doesn’t, Chinese software company LZeal has you covered.

The company’s newly announced ezShare SDHC cards will come complete with a physical on/off switch that should keep them from draining your battery when you aren’t actively using them.

The class 10 cards will come in 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB varieties, and accessing images wirelessly (when the switch is in the “on” position) will be done via web browser or LZeal’s ez Share mobile app. No word yet on pricing or availability.
