Photography Portfolio Website Zenfolio Acquired by Art.com

Art.com is “the world’s largest online specialty retailer of high-end wall art.” Zenfolio offers “online photography presentation and sales solutions for professional photographers and enthusiasts.” Knowing that, Zenfolio’s acquisition by Art.com announced earlier seems like a match made in sales heaven.

Zenfolio was established in 2006 as a place where professional and amateur photographers alike could beautifully display and sell their work. Since then, the site has made a good name for itself, providing quality online portfolio designs (among other things) at reasonable prices.

Fortunately for Zenfolio users, the acquisition should change very little about the way you do business, with the exception of increasing your customer base by quite a few folks. Although the two websites will continue to operate seperately, Art.com has over 12 million customers in 120 countries worldwide (hence the “world’s largest” claim above) — the extra exposure can’t hurt.

For Art.com’s part, its hope is that the Zenfolio’s user (and buyer) base will “allow us to capture an even larger portion of our customers’ ‘wall share.’”
