Paper-Kit Helps You Turn Portrait Photos Into 3D Paper Heads

If you’re looking for a fun and cheap gag gift that’s somewhat photography related, check out Paper-Kit. It’s a simple, and easy-to-use web app that lets you turn your portrait photos (probably better described as mug shots) into nifty 3D heads that you print, cut, and assemble yourself.

The main thing you’ll need to do is photograph a head from three different angles: one from the front and two from the sides. You then upload those photos into the app:

It’ll then turn those photographs into a digital 3D model, which you can then print out as a PDF kit for €2 (~$2.60). The model is broken down into a large number of small shapes that you’ll need to cut out and put together:
