Shooting the Highest Free-Fall Jump In History from the Edge of Space

Next month a project called Red Bull Stratos will attempt to set a new world record for highest free-fall skydive in history. Skydiver Felix Baumgartner will leap from 120,000 ft (36,600m or 22.7 miles), breaking Joseph Kittinger’s record of 102,800 ft set in 1960.

The behind-the-scenes video above gives a glimpse into how the team is planning to photograph and film the crazy stunt with 15 cameras at the edge of space — an environment with zero air pressure and temperatures as low as -60°.
