Anyone who's ever heard of him, did so in a negative way. Even his Wikipedia page you advertise up top has been completely revised ans shows how little he is

Zoriah has a reputation for making lots of false claims, faking comments from "others" on his photography, trying to make $ off disasters, and generally coming off as a war tourist rather than a photojournalist. I'm not surprised that some negative comments popped up regarding his history of deception and self-promotion and outright lies. A friend claimed that Zoriah has watched the Nacthwey film War Photographer over two hundred times. Don't know if that's true. Haiti photographs on his blog were really good despite his poor reputation in the pj community.

A wedding photographer thinks that Zoriah is a hack. The next time you are covered on All Things Considered, or PetaPixel, or you publish for Newsweek, or Time, maybe you could bring up your feelings on how he is a hack. Until then we will look forward to your comments on other people's YouTube posts, and regular appearance on Fail.blog.

Umm...not exactly.

The New York Times, CNN.com, MSNBC.com, Washingtonpost.com, nationalgeographic.com, I could go on. What do these all have in common? They're free and everyone looks to them for stories. Zoriah asks people to pay for his blog.

And saying "the public has the voice [to] spread the information" is only slightly true. The public does have the power to spread the information, but the "information" you're talking about is reported by the mass media because they have the resources and connection to do so. When the mass media fall, the blogosphere will fall right with it.

Regarding: "But editors and major publications make your images seen by millions and allow stories to be told, and the change you want to see actually happen. Now, the Times, Newsweek and other news outlets can't tell every story, and its terrible that they don't. But a picture published in the New York Times does a lot more good for the world than an overly processed picture on your pay-per-view blog."

I'm sorry but in these times editors and mass media do not democratize anything. It's the public that has the voice and spread the information viral through different online media outlets free and paid (including paid blogs). I believe your views are as radical as the ones that you criticize.

Zoriah is creating powerful, thought provoking work that is groundbreaking and timely. Innovative people defy stereotypes and are threatening to those who are uncomfortable when they do not know how to label them. I challenge you to free yourselves from this limited kind of thinking. If you want to change the world, you are going to have to break some conventions and take the heat from people who resent the imposition. I am grateful that Zoriah has the courage to break new ground and keep his higher goals in mind, rather than preoccupy himself with worrying about who he may have offended along the way. Zoriah's objective is to get people thinking about conflict and disaster, and how consumerism, cultural and economic imperialism, and ways of seeing may contribute to the tragedies of our time. It is completely appropriate that he should borrow from pop culture to make his point. Anyone who says his work lacks artistic value or political merit is blinded by personal agendas. Congratulations Zoriah for helping us to see the world anew!
Trilby Becker
Ann Arbor, MI

Those of you who criticize Zoriah so hard, might I ask what has been your contribution to awareness of the horrors of man's cruelty to man? Or nature's cruelty for that matter?

There are many better and many worse out there but he does just fine. So you may not agree with some of his policies or his skills. Why does it mean so much that you spew hatred so vociferously? What good does that do? Nada. It changes nothing.

There is an saying. Them what can ~ do! Them what can't ~ criticize.

And then there is... If you can't say nothin' good, shut the heck up.
