Great Idea but no new idea.
Personnaly, I would transfer them to my computer before to email them.

The screen on the camera does not give me enough info on the image quality.

it would be pretty awesome, to upload photos to twitpic in example, my cellphone camera is a crap xD, so buy a point-and-shot camera (i use a SRL Nikon now) to upload ocasionals photos wolud be great.

Good idea, but not really innovative. iPhone already does much more than just emailing pictures. I'm probably wrong, but there's no any significant future for point-and-shoots at all (Nikon is just trying to keep the industry afloat). I think it will be more like this: “This phone has a Nikon camera in it!” The camera will be taking pictures and the phone will be sharing them online.

I suppose this is kind of incorporating the EyeFi SD card capabilities in a way, but this is built into your camera already. The other problem may be attachment limits on emails, but it depends on your email client. Can't say I would use this feature myself.

An e-mail client sounds very consumer-ish to me, but general network access within a camera, even a DSLR, is something that's really overdue. Bluetooth would be something, for a start. I always feel thrown back about 5-10 years into the past when I hook up my Nikon to the computer with a “cable”.

Well, if you're a photographer first, no, unless you're looking to dump images to clear disk space in the field. But I've watched business people using point-and-clicks to get quick photos for a real estate sale or damage claim, and I know that afterward they're racing back to the office to upload or email the photos to someone, so why not save some legwork and throw email into the camera? It's probably a big enough market that Nikon would be smart to give it a try.

I am not a fan of this idea, but I am sure there are consumers out there who are going to love it. I'm curious through what network the camera will operate to send out the email...

I'm glad this feature is not being incorporated into the dSLRs!
