Unbelievable discussion here. Everyone, not just in photography, has a lot to learn from David. If you don't like his photos - fine - don't follow the blog, don't buy his tutorials and be done with it.

Don't want to know how to SUCCESSFULLY BLOG - monetizing it? Don't follow the blog...

If you can't respect the art, at least respect the acts David was able to turn his hobby into a profession for his whole family - I don't know ANYONE who thinks that's a bad plan.

Leaving anonymous comments on a blog is like slipping roofies to someone in a bar. Cowardly, malicious, and hurtful.

I'm lost here, this whole argument over process / equipment used seems a little school boyish, when surely the end result is good photography and blogging. There isn't a single one of us commenting here that could say hand-on-heart that they are a GREAT photographer. If you think you can, then stop and take a long hard look at yourself. That really isn't for us as individuals to decide. I'd happily leave that to my audience any day of the week, and I'm sure DJN would too!

Oh and I'm sure he said "expose to the right" ... I suggest you re-read the blog entries and look over the body of work again. Over rated? Yeah that's why he has an award winning photoblog that was selected as “Best Photoblog” by numerous publications, and was ranked as the 6th most influential blog in the UK by the Financial Times ... read it and weep anonymous commenter! ... jeeez

Watch out. Impending internets fight!

Addendum:
'I'm a little confused avid reader, "latest and greatest equipments"? Last time I checked the 1ds Mark II was released in 2004.'

The 1DS Mark II may qualify as among the 'greatest' in the opinion of some photographers, might it not? Perhaps avid reader should have specified "latest and/or greatest" for better readability, as I'm sure that's at least partially what was implied.

I'm familiar with Chromasia... in my opinion he's kind of over-hyped. I'm not sure why people expect the internet to be comprised of one united opinion even years after the dawn of its popularity, but I'm sure it's okay when people with differing techniques speak their mind, no? If we all had the same opinion, this would be a pretty bland comments section, err I mean world.
